Beginners- We recommend attending our weekly basics class, this class will guide you through correct breathing and basic alignment. Feel free to attend any other class and learn along the way.
Seniors- The yin yoga is perfect for seniors.
Pregnancy- Yin is wonderful for pregnant students. Always notify your teacher that you are pregnant.
If you are coming to Summer Healing Yoga for the first time you will need to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early so that you may complete some paperwork before class.
Its encouraged that you pay on line this saves you money and then all the paperwork is done, no need to book for classes.
Bring your own yoga mat, water and small towel (if you get sweaty when exercising) – or you may hire or purchase these items at the studio.
Come along to our beginner’s class on Monday nights, or attend a Slow Flow class. If these classes don’t fit in with your schedule come along to a Power flow class and let our trained teachers know it is your first time. Alternatively Yin Yoga is fine for beginners.
It is best to wear light, comfortable, tighter fitting clothing.
Ladies prefer to practice in leggings and a t-shirt or singlet. Fellas prefer to practice in shorts, leggings or track pants and a t-shirt or singlet.
Most commonly people are introduced to the physical aspects of yoga to reduce weight, tone up, improve skin texture, reduce stress and detox the body.
But yoga extends much further than this, incorporating meditation and healing to make you whole again. Traditionally yoga was used to heal many conditions such as broken bones, epilepsy, mental disturbances, colds, asthma etc. In fact the yogis said if a disease could be healed then it could be done through yoga. Through a consistent practice expect magic to happen!

You can pay online before attending the studio, or you can pay in the studio with cash or via eftpos.
We encourage students that want to come more than once a week to opt for our direct debit option of $25 per week. There is no contract, free suspension and a complimentary yoga mat included. Sign up at the studio.
The room gets to a very pleasurable 27-30 degrees. We believe in getting your body to internally reach maximum detoxification rather then using an external temperature to detox you, as this in return may draw out excess water leaving you dehydrated, and may also deplete your mineral level.
It is suggested to practise yoga 3-5 times per week to gain maximum benefit from your practice. However you do as much as you can, applying the principle of ahimsa – ‘non- harming,’ reminding yourself to practice to heal the body rather than to exert which will hinder the body.
Practicing yoga once a week will change your mind, 2 or 3 times a week will change your body, everyday will change your life
No. Bikram is a wonderful yoga that consists of the same 26 postures each time you practice, in a hot room of 38-40 degrees. At Summer Healing Yoga each class is different and unique, giving you a chance to understand your body, mind, spirit and the science of yoga each day in a different way.
